Eden Troupe Presents William Shakespeare’s MACBETH
November 17, 2016 7:30 pm - 10:30 pm
Macbeth follows the battle-hardened Thane of Glamis as he encounters three witches in the Scottish moors on the eve of a visit from the king. The witches tell him that, one day, he will inherit Scotland’s throne. But will the prophecy come true on its own or through Macbeth’s own heinous actions? Wrestling with questions of fate, mortality, and temptation, Macbeth must choose the lengths to which he will go to seize the throne … and how many others he’ll drag down in the process.
Though it first debuted in 1606, Macbeth’s gripping plot and duplicitous cast of characters have kept it fresh and exciting for over four-hundred years. Eden Troupe’s production will feature large-scale battles and epic duels, as well as an original soundtrack composed by local artist Stephen Pierce. Macbeth will be an immersive experience, with swordfights in the aisles and an intimate setting that will make the audience feel as though they are in the halls of Macbeth’s castle witnessing his slow descent into madness.
Macbeth will be presented in Patrick Henry College’s Town Hall, located at 10 Patrick Henry Circle in Purcellville. Tickets are $10 for general admission and may be purchased online at www.edentroupe.com. Tickets may also be purchased in the lobby of the Barbara Hodel Center at Patrick Henry College during limited hours the week of the show. Hours will be announced on the Eden Troupe Facebook page.
